Karl Mecklenburg knows firsthand what it means to overcome obstacles on the way to a dream.


Long before becoming an All-Pro linebacker and captain of the Denver Broncos, Karl began as a college walk-on. He entered professional football as a 12th-round draft pick and went on to build an extraordinary career that included six Pro Bowl appearances, three Super Bowl appearances, and leadership as a Denver Broncos team captain.

Known as one of the NFL's most versatile players, Karl played all seven defensive front positions. Broncos coaches trusted him wherever the team needed him most, sometimes moving him through all seven positions during a single game.



That versatility required more than athletic ability. It demanded preparation, teamwork, courage, adaptability, dedication, and a willingness to put the needs of the team ahead of the individual.

Karl's accomplishments on the football field earned him a place in both the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, as well as recognition as a multiple-time semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.


But Karl brings more to the stage than a celebrated football career.


He is a Certified Speaking Professional® (CSP®) through the National Speakers Association, a professional designation recognizing excellence in the speaking profession. Less than 10% of the speakers who belong to the International Federation for Professional Speakers hold this professional designation.  A much smaller percentage of celebrity speakers are CSPs.
